Tuesday Market Place

15th April 2019

The Tuesday Market Place is one of the best open urban spaces in England.

A sub committee worked with the Executive Director, Open Spaces and Leisure, in a consultative process to upgrade and improve this wonderful space for use by more events, cafe seating, markets, music and a very useful amount of parking.

The end result with York paving on the southern part for use by events and a market has been nicely set off with some locally engineered seating to commemorate Frederick Savage, a Victorian industrialist, who is now best known for his elaborate steam driven roundabouts.
