All simple two-up/two-down terraced cottages but of differing individual detail and interest. Some of the houses of this street are distinctive for the use of quite large floral terracotta plaques, mainly north of Walker Street which links and crosses the streets on this side of Loke Road itself. Here the plaques form continuous decorative bands. At the north end of the street on both sides the last houses are built of white brick with red brick dressings instead of red with white. The plaques here are white: the last house on the east side is Valerian (name almost invisible). Some of these are on the main list as examples. Floral patterns change a couple of times along the terrace runs. At the very north end beyond the made-up road: two more cottages standing on their own land: Locarno and Geneva Cottages. Locarno is rendered but Geneva suggests they continue the style of this end of Burkitt Street (red brick). South of Walker Street there are no floral plaques except that nos. 20 and 18 on the east side each have a single floral plaque over the door (these are on the main list). Several houses in these streets retain metal boot scrapers. Surviving names: Fern, Rose, Alford (nos. 4–8) and Albion, Ellen, Violet, Lily (nos. 14–20).
